Students, Trainees and Early Career Development

IHDCYH is committed to strengthening Canada’s capacity and knowledge by supporting a new generation of maternal, reproductive, child and youth health researchers. This is achieved by providing important training, early career development and mentorship support to researchers in these fields. IHDCYH embeds capacity development, and networks for support and mentorship of trainees into each of the programs that it funds.

Training, Early and Mid-Career Development and Mentorship Opportunities

Early Career Investigators: IHDCYH has two annual competitions that are a source of direct funding for Early Career Investigators. Each of these competitions also includes a mentorship component. Please note that competition dates for these will vary, with timely updates being provided through our eBulletin.

Early/mid-Career Investigators and Trainees: IHDCYH is also committed to providing support to early to mid-Career Investigators, as demonstrated through periodic dedicated funding opportunities. These are designed to create networks of researchers who provide additional support to and mentorship opportunities for trainees:

  • Clinician-Investigator Teams in Obstetrics and Maternal-Fetal Medicine
  • Applied Chairs in Reproductive and Child Health Services and Policy Research
