The Institute of Human Development, Child and Youth Health (IHDCYH) funds health research in order to develop and support a well-trained base of investigators with the skills and expertise needed to design and conduct innovative and diverse research and knowledge translation activities aimed at improving health.
IHDCYH provides funding support for two distinct groups of research initiatives:
- strategic research in which the Institute takes the lead
- investigator-initiated research, which the Institute facilitates and supports through various mechanisms such as workshops and coalition building
