Biography
Sharon E. Straus is a geriatrician and clinical epidemiologist who trained at the University of Toronto and the University of Oxford. She is the Director of the Knowledge Translation Program of the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute of St. Michael’s; and Professor in the Department of Medicine, Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. Her research includes advancing the science and practice of knowledge translation including knowledge synthesis and patient engagement in research. She has held various leadership positions at the university and hospital levels. She received national and international awards for mentorship, research, leadership and education. She was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Montreal, is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences and a Member of the Order of Canada.
