Phase 3 - Coalition Phase: Catalyzing the Future (Ongoing)
Supporting Canadian innovative and impactful research to transform acute care.
The Coalition Phase will support large‑scale, interdisciplinary research that strengthens the pathway from research to implementation. This phase focuses on improving the care continuum to better prevent acute crises, improve management during acute care episodes, and support sustainable recovery across the lifespan, in addition to:
- Connecting multiple phases of the care continuum (pre‑acute, acute, post‑acute)
- Integrating several research fields
- Engaging teams across CIHR health research pillars (I–IV)
- Leveraging the full potential of health data, digital tools, and AI
- Promoting open science and knowledge mobilization
- Facilitating implementation of research innovations
- Embedding EDI principles
- Contributing to Indigenous health research
- Building capacity across the country
