Health System Impact Fellowship: Congratulations to the 2019 cohort!

IHSPR congratulates the recipients of the 2019 Health System Impact (HSI) Fellowship award (view the funding decisions). These 51 fellows have embarked on embedded fellowships within 39 health system organizations across the country where they are contributing their research and analytic talents to tackling high-priority challenges their partner organizations are facing. The HSI Fellowship is a flagship program of IHSPR and is made possible through partnerships. IHSPR extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to this year’s partners, which include the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research; Fonds de recherche du Québec –Santé; Mitacs; Research Nova Scotia; CIHR’s Institutes of Aging (IA), Cancer Research (ICR), Circulatory and Respiratory Health (ICRH), Gender and Health (IGH), Infection and Immunity (III), Musculoskeletal Health and Arthritis (IMHA), Neurosciences, Mental Health and Addiction (INMHA), Nutrition, Metabolism and Diabetes (INMD), Population and Public Health (IPPH), and the Science Policy Branch; and the 39 health system organizations and 13 universities that are hosting fellows and helping train the next generation of research-savvy health system leaders. The HSI Fellowship program was launched in 2016 and has funded 146 fellows to date, representing a total investment of $17.26 million. The program aims to prepare PhD trainees and post-doctoral fellows with the professional skills, competencies, experiences and networks to make meaningful and impactful contributions to our health system through employment in both academic and applied health system organizations. The program also aims to increase awareness about the contributions and impacts PhD talent can make within and outside the university sector. Stay tuned for the fourth launch of the HSI Fellowship program later this fall.
