Congratulations to the CIHR funded recipients of the 7th Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases competition
As a member of the Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases (GACD), CIHR participated in the seventh GACD research funding call: A Life Course Approach to Common Non-Communication Disease Risk Factor Prevention and Reduction.
Congratulations to the following researchers who will receive funding from CIHR through this program:
- Adaptation and development of an implementation strategy for a novel artificial intelligence-driven ehealth behaviour change program in Colombia
Researcher: Dr. Simon Bacon (Concordia University) - Family centred approach to enhance lifestyle change and behavioural modification for prevention of cardiovascular diseases among adolescents and their families in Uganda (FaCe-D)
Researcher: Dr. David Moore (University of British Columbia) - Leveraging Guatemalan farmers’ existing organization around food sovereignty and agroecology for reducing risk of diet- and pesticide-related noncommunicable diseases
Researcher: Dr. Malek Batal (Université de Montréal) - Youth promotion of resilience involving mental e-health (Y-PRIME)
Researcher: Dr. Raymond Lam (University of British Columbia) - STOP NCDs: Scaling up evidence-based health system interventions through the use of sustainable healthcare financing and digital technology platforms to improve non-communicable disease prevention and control in Tanzania
Researcher: Dr. Karen Yeates (Queen’s University)
These CIHR-funded researchers will receive up to $2 million over five years to support their implementation research that takes a life course approach to reducing the risks of non-communicable diseases in low- and middle-income countries and disadvantaged populations in high-income countries.
