Recruiting College Chair in the area of patient and citizen engagement

Deadline to apply: May 27, 2016

Expression of interest

CIHR is looking to fill a dedicated College Chair position with expertise in patient and citizen engagement, and experience with peer review processes. This Chair will ensure patient and citizen perspectives are integrated throughout the implementation of the College of Reviewers. The selected individual will join the other College Chairs who will work in collaboration with CIHR’s Chief Scientific Officer to recruit and oversee the peer reviewer membership base and provide the strategic guidance needed to build the College of Reviewers into a national resource.

The College Chair with expertise in patient and citizen engagement will be an individual recognized within their community as a leader in health and health research decision making. The Chair will have a history of holding influential roles having impact within the Chair’s respective communities. The individual will also have a strong understanding of the environment in which Canadian health research is funded, managed, and applied, including a broad understanding of CIHR’s mandate, values and principles and exposure to science on a broad spectrum.

We take this opportunity to thank the individuals who submitted their interest for one of the College Chair positions following the initial recruitment process earlier this year. The inaugural slate of College Chairs will be announced over the coming weeks.

The College of Reviewers is a CIHR initiative to enhance the peer review system.
