Biography

Jessica Esseltine completed her PhD at Western University studying GPCR signal transduction and protein trafficking. During her postdoctoral fellowships, she delved further into signal transduction, protein-protein interactions and cell-cell communication. Jessica discovered pluripotent stem cells quite late in her training and is grateful every day that she finally found her scientific passion. Since moving to beautiful Newfoundland, Jessica’s team is using patient-derived iPSC cardiomyocytes in order to understand hereditary sudden cardiac death.
